English actor, singer and voiceover talent J. Pat O' Malley entertained audiences for over 50 years.
He was born on March 15th, 1904 and passed away Feb. 27th, 1985 at age 80.

Malley began his career as recording artist in the UK in 1925. He was the principal singer with Jack Hylton and his Orchestra from 1930 to 1933. In his early years, he recorded over 400 popular sings. He came to the states in 1935 and stayed.


O' Malley made his acting film debut in 1940, playing a fish peddler in CAPTAIN CAUTION.

 He appeared in over 300 movies, TV episodes, tele-films and plays. He was a favorite of Walt Disney.



Besides THE DVD SHOW, some of O' Malley's TV career highlights included: A starring role opposite Shirley HAZEL Booth in the short-lived 1973 sitcom A TOUCH OF GRACE, regular roles on 2 other TV shows--Perkins the Butler on Disney's THE ADVENTURES OF SPIN AND MARTY and Mr. Bundy, the handyman, on WENDY AND ME with George Burns & Connie Stevens. He had recurring roles on MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY, BLACK SADDLE (as Judge Marsh), O' Reilly on the Walt Disney serial THE SWAMP FOX, FRONTIER CIRCUS (as Duffy), MY FAVORITE MARTIAN (as Bill Bixby's boss in the 1st season) and Hermione Baddeley's beau Bert Beasley on MAUDE. On THE TWILIGHT ZONE he played Old Ben in The Fugitive episode and  Gooberman the town drunk in the episode Mr. Garrity and the Graves.

TOAD & THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, (both as Cyril Proudbottom), THE LONG HOT SUMMER, 101 DALMATIANS (as Jasper & the Colonel), a lead role in the caper film BLUEPRINT FOR ROBBERY, the remake of THE CABINET OF CALIGARI, THE GUMBALL RALLY (as a member of the Mercedes Team), ROBIN HOOD (as the Otto), SKIN GAME, WILLARD, THE CHEYENNE SOCIAL CLUB, STAR!, THE JUNGLE BOOK (as Col. Hathi the Elephant & Buzzie), HELLO, DOLLY! (Policeman in Park) and MARY POPPINS (as various characters).

O' Malley made his Broadway debut in BUT NOT GOODBYE. He won raves in the 1944 production of TEN LITTLE INDIANS, as the shady ex-policeman turned private eye William Blore in Agatha Christie's stage adaptation of her novel AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. The show ran a year and 3 days.


 He also appeared on Bwdy. in the 1950's as a replacement Inspector Hubbard in Frederick Knott's DIAL M FOR MURDER, as well as short runs in OF THEE I SING and SEAGULLS OVER SORRENTO.
