Woodward, who looked really good in a cowboy hat, passed away on Feb. 22, 2019 at age 93.






He is best remembered as the walking boss, Boss Godfrey, ''the man with no eyes'', in COOL HAND LUKE, for 19 guest appearances on GUNSMOKE, playing Deputy Shotgun Gibbs for 3 seasons on THE LIFE AND LEGEND OF WYATT EARP, his memorable guest spots on STAR TREK and for his stint on DALLAS as Jock's friend Marvin 'Punk' Anderson.

Woodward appeared in over 125 TV shows and films, at his best in westerns.
His deep voice and rough-hewn face got him cast as many a corrupt bad guy, but he was equally adept at sympathetic good guys as well.

Did you know...?

Woodward was born in Fort Worth, Texas on September 16th, 1925. 

He won a Golden Boot Award in 1988.

He has been flying airplanes since he was 16. His chief hobby is restoring, rebuilding and flying antique planes, receiving several awards for his restoration projects. 

Woodward served with the U.S. Air Force as a pilot during WWII & the Korean War.

Woodward ranks third with most GUNSMOKE guest roles, behind Victor French & Gregg Palmer.
