Lloyd on set with his THE WILD GEESE director Andrew V. McLaglen

You can actually read the 1980 script for the unfilmed ROMANCE OF THE PINK PANTHER, written by Peter Sellers & Jim Moloney, which was scrapped when Sellers died from a heart attack in July 1980.
Word is Clive Donner--who directed Sellers in WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT & the awful CHARLIE CHAN AND THE CURSE OF THE DRAGON QUEEN--not Blake Edwards, was set to direct.
